One of the coolest things about having a child, IMHO, is contemplating the things they’ll live to see.\u00c2\u00a0 Space elevators.\u00c2\u00a0 Cure for cancer.\u00c2\u00a0 Robot revolution that rises up to destroy all humans.\u00c2\u00a0 Stuff like that.<\/p>\n

But one of the –\u00c2\u00a0 if not the <\/em>— coolest prospects is finding life on other planets.\u00c2\u00a0 There’s a story<\/a> out today about UK scientists advocating the position that there is presently life on other planets.\u00c2\u00a0 I really hope Ava’s around if and when there’s contact with intelligent life from somewhere other than Earth.\u00c2\u00a0 And I really hope that intelligent life doesn’t decide to use humans as a food source.<\/p>\n

In a somewhat related story, I found this piece<\/a> entertaining.\u00c2\u00a0 I love dinosaurs.\u00c2\u00a0 Did (do) other planets have dinosaurs?\u00c2\u00a0 That would be cool.\u00c2\u00a0 How can Crichton not <\/em>be writing a sequel to Jurassic Park that features some astronomer finding a distant planet full of dinosaurs?\u00c2\u00a0 Better yet, make it a pre<\/em>quel.\u00c2\u00a0 Twisty!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
