{"id":713,"date":"2007-01-19T08:57:33","date_gmt":"2007-01-19T14:57:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nicheplayer.net\/wordpress\/?p=713"},"modified":"2007-01-19T08:57:33","modified_gmt":"2007-01-19T14:57:33","slug":"dont-smoke","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nicheplayer.net\/avablog\/2007\/01\/19\/dont-smoke\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Don&#8217;t smoke&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A couple days ago, Ava was sitting at the table eating when she started saying what sounded like &#8220;don&#8217;t smoke!&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0 We asked her where she heard it, and she said her Gramary had said it.\u00c2\u00a0 &#8220;Why did she say that?,&#8221; we asked.\u00c2\u00a0 Ava rambled on about being out on a walk, so I figured they must&#8217;ve come across a cigarette butt or something.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->I had to call my mom on another matter, so while I had her on the phone, I asked about the smoking thing.\u00c2\u00a0 Turns out she&#8217;d said &#8220;dirt, shmirt&#8221; when Ava had stepped in a little patch of mud on their walk.\u00c2\u00a0 When run through the Avalator, it came out sounding an awful lot like &#8220;don&#8217;t smoke.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Leah and I heard tell recently of a child attending daycare at another facility in town who&#8217;s dropping the F bomb at school.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s kinda fun to consider these little tykes wandering blind through this new forest of language, but there are obviously some dark parts of the woods they&#8217;d be better off avoiding.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Leah and I heard tell recently of a child attending daycare at another facility in town who&#8217;s dropping the F bomb at school.
