{"id":544,"date":"2006-10-12T13:07:35","date_gmt":"2006-10-12T18:07:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nicheplayer.net\/wordpress\/?p=544"},"modified":"2006-10-12T13:07:35","modified_gmt":"2006-10-12T18:07:35","slug":"im-not-ready","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nicheplayer.net\/avablog\/2006\/10\/12\/im-not-ready\/","title":{"rendered":"I&#8217;m not ready!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It <em>snowed <\/em>yesterday.\u00c2\u00a0 SNOWED!\u00c2\u00a0 October 11.\u00c2\u00a0 Well, I don&#8217;t know if a meteorologist would call what fell from the sky snow, but it was white, and it didn&#8217;t look like sleet.<\/p>\n<p>And I suppose Iowans, by nature, are always ready for this weather, especially in the fall.\u00c2\u00a0 Spring&#8217;s the same way.\u00c2\u00a0 Cold, windy, and gray one day, sunny and hot the next.\u00c2\u00a0 Summers are just full of long, steamy days, and winters are simply short blips of freezing, clear sunlight between long stretches of still, numbing darkness.<\/p>\n<p>Word is we&#8217;re in for a mild winter this year.\u00c2\u00a0 I hope that&#8217;s true.\u00c2\u00a0 It would be nice, however, if we got a couple heavy snowfalls, just so Ava gets a good taste of the white stuff.\u00c2\u00a0 What&#8217;s a childhood without snow?\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;ve never understood these Californians&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It snowed yesterday.\u00c2\u00a0 SNOWED!\u00c2\u00a0 October 11.\u00c2\u00a0 Well, I don&#8217;t know if a meteorologist would call what fell from the sky snow, but it was white, and it didn&#8217;t look like sleet.
