How is it that even a three-day weekend can seem so short?\u00c2\u00a0 I don’t know that it was perceptually any longer than a standard two-day break.\u00c2\u00a0 Bah.\u00c2\u00a0 Whatever.\u00c2\u00a0 It was nice while it lasted.<\/p>\n

Leah’s parents were in town Saturday and Sunday, and we took them out to the MacBride Raptor Project<\/a> so we could all look at the injured birds.\u00c2\u00a0 Afterwards we enjoyed a picnic dinner on what was an absolutely gorgeous day.\u00c2\u00a0 We even stopped for ice cream on the way home.\u00c2\u00a0 It was a pretty full afternoon.\u00c2\u00a0 Sunday morning we drove down to the Amana Colonies and had a big fat family style breakfast.\u00c2\u00a0 Later on Sunday, the guy we’re hoping will do the work on our house addition stopped by to look at the place and talk over possible options with us.\u00c2\u00a0 He seemed excited about the project; now “all” we have to do is get a plan drawn up and get on his schedule as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

Oh, also on Saturday I peeled a bunch of tomatoes, chopped some onions and fresh basil, and made some tomato sauce to freeze.\u00c2\u00a0 It tasted pretty good before I packed it away.\u00c2\u00a0 I can’t wait to pull some out at the end of January and enjoy a little taste of summer.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow’s our wedding anniversary.\u00c2\u00a0 Three years.\u00c2\u00a0 Life can really run you over when you’re not looking.\u00c2\u00a0 And I’ve been run over.\u00c2\u00a0 By the love bus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
