This morning, Emmett wandered into the bathroom while I was getting ready for work and casually asked, \u201cWhen I die, will I go to heaven?\u201d My heart lurched at the question, and I felt tears prick my eyes, but I calmly said, \u201cSome people believe in heaven. I\u2019m not sure if I do. I don\u2019t really know what happens to us when we die. No one knows for sure.\u201d Then I asked him, \u201cDo you believe in heaven?\u201d He said, \u201cYes, I do. I want to go to heaven because I want to be with my grandpa and other people who love me.\u201d Because both of his grandfathers still are alive, I said, \u201cWhich grandpa?\u201d He paused and said, \u201cMy great, great, great grandpa.\u201d I bent down to hug him and said, \u201cThat sounds really nice.
