Ava loves to stand up on the couch in our living room and look out the window.\u00c2\u00a0 She watches the cars drive by and people walking dogs.\u00c2\u00a0 It’s big fun.<\/p>\n

The problem, until recently, was that Ava couldn’t get up on the couch by herself.\u00c2\u00a0 When she wanted to look out the window, she’d stand on the floor next to the couch and slap the cushions as she yelled, “Up!\u00c2\u00a0 Up!”\u00c2\u00a0 Leah or I would give her a lift, and she’d commence gawking.<\/p>\n

I was sitting in the living room yesterday when Ava walked in and made like she was going to start smacking the couch cushions again.\u00c2\u00a0 I was just about to get up and help her when she began scaling the ottoman, wedging herself between it and the couch as she pulled herself up and then walked over to look out the window.\u00c2\u00a0 It was pretty neat.\u00c2\u00a0 Even better, she then turned around and got off<\/em> the couch all by herself.<\/p>\n
