{"id":237,"date":"2006-02-02T09:03:29","date_gmt":"2006-02-02T15:03:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nicheplayer.net\/wordpress\/?p=237"},"modified":"2006-02-02T09:03:29","modified_gmt":"2006-02-02T15:03:29","slug":"new-music","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nicheplayer.net\/avablog\/2006\/02\/02\/new-music\/","title":{"rendered":"New music"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My friend <a title=\"betsy\" href=\"http:\/\/www.iptv.org\/jazz\/hickok.cfm\">Betsy <\/a>and I sometimes trade music recommendations, as we have a mutual appreciation of Jazz (she can actually perform it, while I can only sit back and listen).<\/p>\n<p>The latest album she&#8217;s brought to my attention is the <a title=\"soundtrack\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B000ASDGE4\/sr=1-1\/qid=1138891684\/ref=pd_bbs_1\/103-2918963-8759849?%5Fencoding=UTF8\">soundtrack <\/a>for <a title=\"good night\" href=\"http:\/\/imdb.com\/title\/tt0433383\/\"><em>Good Night, and Good Luck<\/em><\/a>, which features the silky vocal stylings of Dianne Reeves.\u00c2\u00a0 I never got a chance to see the movie, or I would&#8217;ve undoubtedly snapped up this music as soon as I left the theater.<\/p>\n<p>Betsy maintains &#8212; and I&#8217;m hard pressed to disagree &#8212; that Dianne&#8217;s voice falls somewhere between Sarah Vaughan and Ella.\u00c2\u00a0 She has such a wonderful conversational tone, and her range delivers some nice surprises now and then.\u00c2\u00a0 This soundtrack would make excellent background music for cocktails with a small group of friends, and some of the tunes are soft enough to make a nice accompaniment for a <a title=\"vd\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pictureframes.co.uk\/pages\/saint_valentine.htm\">romantic dinner for two<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My friend Betsy and I sometimes trade music recommendations, as we have a mutual appreciation of Jazz (she can actually perform it, while I can only sit back and listen).
