Watching the Olympics here. Women’s beach volleyball. I don’t follow the sport, but I do like watching and playing volleyball, so when the pros are playing in the Olympics, well, I’m there.

\nI would’ve loved to have been a fly on the wall in the Nike design session in which some plucky young intern piped up and said, earnestly, “Our women’s volleyball outfits need to look more like lingerie. More mesh. Flimsier, thinner material in the bra cup.”<\/p>\n
I imagine the hush that must have come over the room. But somebody at the table must’ve loved the idea, because here they are, jumping and diving and killing like a couple models out of a Frederick’s catalog. This is the Americans I’m talking about; the Belgians are built more like German shot putters. Don’t even get me started on the volleyball cheerleaders<\/a> (volleyball cheerleaders?). <\/p>\n Heck of a first set! Wow. Oh, and what’s this commercial…crouching tiger, hidden mcnugget?
