She said to me, &#8220;This would make a great bed for a baby butthead.&#8221; (This &#8220;butthead&#8221; word, which she did NOT learn from us, is her newest linguistic obsession, with which she daily tests our limits. We&#8217;ve been repeatedly chastising her for it, but now I think we should just ignore it and hope it goes away.)<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nAnyway, I said to her, &#8220;Ava, we don&#8217;t use words like that.&#8221; Ignoring my admonishment completely, she sat up in bed, held up her hands, and said, &#8220;Hey! You know what, Mom? All those words start with the letter &#8216;B&#8217;: &#8216;bed,&#8217; &#8216;baby,&#8217; and &#8216;butthead!'&#8221; I had to smother a smile of disbelief and admiration.
