I’m happy to participate, given she observes a similar ban on non-essential phone calls to her family and friends during the same period (“non-essential, in this case, includes a call to her mother to ask whether she should cover the fresh leafy greens she’s just washed before putting them in the fridge). Those of you who know Leah have probably already guessed the present status of our battle of wills: Leah’s resolve is crumbling. Even as of last night — the first night of the prohibition — she was straining against the new regulations after being caught in a secret call in the kitchen when she thought I was upstairs. Tsk tsk! We’ll see how long she can hold out. The yearning for her sister’s familiar voice in her ear will surely cause Leah to cave completely, possibly as soon as this evening.
