Leah went to change ECP’s diaper first thing this morning* and was confronted with a problem upon fastening him back up. Well, it was a problem for Leah, at least. For the boy’s part, he surely would’ve been happy to lie there on his back all day, “Little Em Em” standing at attention in all its miniature glory, confounding every effort to affix a clean diaper.
“What do I do, push it down?” Leah was genuinely perplexed. “Should I just wait…?” Meanwhile, Emmett remained reclined on the bed, arms up with his hands folded behind his head, as if to say, “Settle in, this could take a while.”
* Technically, “first thing this morning” would’ve been around 3:15, when I got up to get Emmett from his crib and bring him into our bed. I’m taking artistic license here.
