Our friend Andy contacted us this evening to ask if we’d like to join him for dinner at Augusta, an eatery in nearby Oxford we’ve heard a lot about but haven’t tried. It was short notice, so we had to take Ava along. It wasn’t a relaxing meal, but it was good. What’s more, we were celebrating Andy’s birthday, so it was a good cause.
Andy and I ordered the crab cakes and crawfish beignets for appetizers. He and his lady love Annette had steaks, while I had fried catfish and Leah had a salmon salad. Dessert was strawberry shortcake and chocolate beignets, as seen here:

I’d recommend this place, if you haven’t been. Although we didn’t have any tonight, I’m told they also offer very tasty vegetarian entrees; I’ll have to try one of those next time.
