There aren’t words enough to describe how much I like The Crooked Spoon Cafe in downtown Grand Marais. Leah and I ate there last year; you might recall I had the blue crab cakes and jicama slaw.
We got to eat there twice this year, and it was just as perfect as last year. If you can make it as far north as Duluth, I’d encourage you to push on through another couple hours and see if you can get in here. The chef is from the East Coast, but he’s self taught. Bulgarian potato and goat cheese pancakes with Lake Superior caviar, french onion soup en croute…the hits just keep coming.
