Panties emblazoned with “Buy it now! Tell dad later!” Now, I wouldn’t have Ava dressed for 6th grade in a burqa (probably), but the thought of her heading off to school wearing any of this stuff gives me the frights. Doesn’t Carhartt make underwear for little girls?
Even more distressing is the thought of Ava and Leah off shopping together. Where, I ask you, is the voice of reason in that duo? Maybe Ava will rebel against her mother’s devotion to uncomfortable shoes and designer jeans. Maybe she’ll be that kid at school who works her own style, out of step as it may be with whatever the barbies are strutting around in.
