He's even better in person; he really is as good natured as he looks.

You know, Aprille, Leah and I were just discussing the second baby thing the other day. We agreed that we both pine a little bit (and sometimes a lot) for the days when it was just the three of us, and we worry that the introduction of Emmett has been hard on Ava. I'm sure it has been. But we're trying to carry on in the faith that the net gain will be positive, eventually.

Two days ago I brought Emmett in and set him next to Ava on the couch. She was glued to PBS, but when Em reached over, patted her leg, and looked up at her with a smile, she immediately returned the smile and leaned over to give him a cuddle and a kiss. I know the whole sibling dynamic is likely toward the bottom of your list of concerns with having another child, but it's turned out (after all our fertility trouble) to be the defining theme of our lives now. I bet Miles would simply adore a little sis. "Etta?" "Ella?" May as well stick with the Jazz theme. ;-)
