Leah keeps threatening me she’s going to set up an appointment at Flash for a family portrait. I hate Flash. I might as well get that out there right now. Anyway, I’m telling her not to do it, that I’ll take the shots. She’s unconvinced. So I set up a little studio in the living room this afternoon and imposed on the kids — who’re both sick — to sit for some shots for me. Witness:

Now, it’s one thing to get these two in a shot, and a complete other thing to get us all in a shot. But I’m emboldened. I have to take a lint roller to my backdrop, but other than that, I’m ready to go….
Oh, lastly: I’ll never tell what I had to do to get these smiles.

Correction, dear: I did NOT want to go to Flash. I hate them! I wanted to use Gehman Photography in Kalona: http://www.gehmanphotography.com/

But Leah, that wouldn't rhyme. Gamin' Gehman? Blamin' Gehman?

I'm completely impressed yet again. This is an adorable photo. I know you want to go professional Leah but I'd stick with your hubby at the least for photos of the kids. I haven't seen many of any kids better than this. Let him try the family one once. – Kristin

How 'bout, “Shamin' Gehman?” To be fair, Gehman does some nice stuff. Heck, she shot the wedding of one of our friends at work, which I imagine is how Leah got the bug?
