Moment of cuteness

I took this shot a while ago and just got around to posting it. I planted this tree when we moved into our house, the thinking being that Ava and the tree could grow up together. Anyway, unlike Ava, the tree is planted in violation of city ordinances, so mum’s the word, OK? Thanks.

    Very nice tree. We planted an apple tree the year that Hannah started kindergarten with the plan that we'll take her picture in front of the tree every year on the first day of school. My only worry is that with my black thumb the tree will die before she makes it through high school.

    My little tree seems healthy enough. The trick for me is going to be to keep the high school kids from knocking it down; it's growing on the parking right where they pull up for school.
