Weak end

We drove down to Burlington on Saturday to spend the day knocking around and visiting our friends Bob and Jude, who now live in my grandmother’s old house. It’s nice to go and see them and to get to spend some time in that familiar place. Ava likes it, too.

frisbee

And she likes to play Frisbee. She’s actually getting pretty good at tossing it. Catching, not so much. I nailed her square across the nose once, which caused her to be a little gun shy. But she’ll get over it.

Is that house right on the river bluff? Looks like a great view. I’ve been thinking it might be fun to take a trip down to Burlington. Any recommendations?

Denny, it is. It’s a great location. If you’re going to go down, which I encourage, there’s a fanastic new public library that’s worth seeing. For food, try Napoli’s Pizza, which is downtown; Mr. Moto’s, which is a fun coffee/beer/pizza place (they have a spinach beet salad, too, that’s tasty). There’s a new Italian Place called La Tavola that I’ve heard is good. It’s a couple blocks north of Mr. Moto’s. You’ll also want to get out to Crapo (cray-po) Park and look around. There’s a public pool there, lots of really great trees and gardens, and hiking trails that go down the bluff and straight to the river’s edge. My latest pics of Burlington on Flickr are geotagged, but not too exactly. I should remedy that. Gmail me if you have any other questions!
