As of 4 p.m. Central Time yesterday afternoon, my sister-in-law Rachel passed the oral section of her Ph.D. comps with flying colors. I’m so proud I could spit, even though I had absolutely nothing to do with her success.
Way to go, Rachel! I’m looking forward to celebrating her accomplishment in a couple weeks when she and Kevin are in town for Ava’s birthday. The picture above was taken a couple years ago in Grand Marais and is one of my favorites of Rachel. It’s probably second place to the one of her Uncle Jim’s dog Millie giving Rachel’s face a good washing on top of Pincushion, also taken in G.M. Rachel, you know the one I’m talking about….
